I. Key considerations for selecting paint for bulldozer blade cutting edges.
1. Understand substrate properties.
Common materials used for blade cutting edges include carbon steel, boron steel (30MnB) and galvanised steel. Different materials have different requirements in terms of primer adhesion and corrosion resistance.
For galvanised steel plates, use a high-adhesion epoxy primer (e.g. ED1000). This primer is compatible with metals such as stainless steel and aluminium alloys, and has salt spray resistance of at least 1000 hours.
2. Select paint based on operating environment:
For humid, salt spray or coastal areas: Select water-resistant and salt spray-resistant epoxy/polyurethane systems. Apply a zinc-rich epoxy primer, followed by a salt spray-resistant polyurethane or fluorocarbon topcoat.
For high temperatures or intense sunlight: Choose a heat-resistant polyurethane or fluorocarbon topcoat to maintain hardness above 80°C.
High-abrasion conditions: Apply an abrasion-resistant intermediate coat (e.g. epoxy or polyester) over the primer before applying the topcoat to enhance impact and scratch resistance.
3. Coating system (layers and thickness)
The traditional three-layer system (primer + intermediate coat + topcoat) remains predominant due to its well-established process and ease of application.
Film thickness requirements: The total coating thickness generally ranges between 80 and 120 µm, with the primer at approximately 30–40 µm and the topcoat at 40–60 µm. Multiple spray applications may be employed as necessary.
4. Surface preparation:
First, automatic shot blasting or shot peening is performed for rust removal, followed by manual cleaning to ensure the roughness of the substrate surface (Ra≈50–80 µm) meets the requirements for primer adhesion.
Thorough degreasing and dust removal must be completed before spraying to prevent blistering or peeling.

II. What should be noted when spray painting cutting blades?
1. Surface preparation quality: Rust removal, degreasing and sandblasting must be completed in one process. Any residue will cause the primer to peel.
2. Spraying environment: The temperature should be between 15 and 30°C and the relative humidity should be ≤70% to prevent bubbling and sagging.
3. Curing temperature/time per coat: Primer: 80–100°C for approximately 10 minutes; Intermediate Coat: 120°C for approximately 15 minutes; Topcoat: 150°C for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Thickness control: Use a dry film thickness gauge for real-time monitoring to ensure the overall thickness remains within 80–120 µm.
5. Quality inspection: Salt spray (1000 hours) + adhesion (cross-cut test) + visual inspection. Products must pass this inspection before being released from the warehouse.

III. Can YASSIAN cutting edges be customised with logo? What are the requirements?
Unless otherwise requested, the factory applies the YASSIAN trademark or leaves the surface unmarked. To arrange production of a customised logo, a minimum order quantity must be met and a clear image of the logo must be provided.
IV. How are logos applied to YASSIAN cutting edges?
Logo can be customised using labels, stamps, QR codes, screen printing or laser engraving. Costs vary based on production method. We tailor trademarks according to customer specifications.
