Special requirements for knife plates in port machinery
The application of knife plates in port machinery needs to meet special requirements such as high strength, wear resistance and environmental adaptability, as follows:
I. Material Performance Requirements
Abrasion resistance standard
It adopts NM400/NM500 grade wear-resistant steel plate (with hardness up to HB400-550), and its service life is 3-5 times that of ordinary steel .
Composite process requirements
High-chromium alloy surfacing technology (such as a 6mm thick wear-resistant layer) can increase the service life of grab knife plates by 10 times and reduce maintenance costs by 90%.
Ii. Structural Design Specifications
Modification of grab blade plate
The welding strength of the bimetallic composite structure (Q345 base material + high-chromium alloy layer) must be ensured through the open arc low-temperature automatic surfacing process.
Impact resistance design
It is necessary to meet the ship motion parameters under sea conditions of level 6 (roll ±15°, roll ±22.5°), and pass the mechanical shock test (shock acceleration ≥100 m/s) .
Iii. Environmental Adaptability
Corrosion protection
To adapt to high salt spray environment, surface treatment must pass ISO 9227 salt spray test (≥1000 hours) .
Temperature tolerance
The working temperature range should cover -20°C to +45° C. The toughness of the material at low temperatures must not be lower than -20°C, and the impact energy should be ≥27J.
Iv. Maintenance and Inspection
Intelligent monitoring
It is recommended to integrate a wear sensor to trigger a warning when the wear of the knife plate reaches 0.15mm.
Regularly check
Check the wear condition of the knife plate every 50 hours and conduct a thickness test of the surfacing layer every 1000 hours (allowable error ±0.5mm) .
Note: The knife plates of port machinery shall comply with "Technical Conditions for Port Handling Machinery" (GB/T 3811-2008) and ISO 23125:2015 mechanical safety standard .
