The position of the excavator bucket shaft and bushing within the excavator
The position and function of the bucket shaft and bushing of an excavator
I. Position of the Bucket Shaft
Installation location
The bucket shaft is located at the connection point between the bucket arm (large arm) of the excavator and the bucket, and is specifically fixed on the bucket ears (ear plates) on both sides of the bucket. It cooperates with the connecting ear plates at the end of the bucket arm through pins or bolts .
For example: The bucket of an excavator is connected to the bucket lugs through the bucket shaft to achieve the bucket's flipping and digging actions .
Structural features
The bucket shaft is usually a solid shaft body with threads or shaft shoulders at both ends for easy installation and fixation .
Some bucket shafts are designed with lubrication holes, and the bushing can be maintained by oiling .
Ii. Position of the bushing
Installation location
The bushing is placed in the shaft hole between the bucket shaft and the bucket ear, directly contacting the bucket shaft to prevent metal friction .
For example: The bushing is installed in the fit clearance between the bucket lugs and the bucket shaft to reduce wear .
Feature extension
Bushings are also used in hydraulic cylinders, connecting rods and other parts, but in excavators, they are mainly concentrated at the connection between the bucket ears and the bucket shaft .
Iii. Component Synergy Relationship
The bucket shaft transmits power and bears loads, and the bushing protects the bucket shaft through its wear-resistant properties. Together, they ensure the flexible movement of the bucket and extend its service life .
Note : The bucket shaft and bushing designs of different models of excavators may vary. It is recommended to refer to the maintenance manual of the specific equipment .
